Notes:
Abstract Expansion of the forehead skin has been advocated in nasal reconstruction because it provides a flap that is longer and thinner, while allowing easy primary closure of the donor area. With appropriate changes in technique, the same excellent, or even better results in nasal reconstruction can be obtained without the need for tissue expansion. With this technique, a two-stage nasal reconstruction is performed with almost no need for secondary revisions. It eliminates the disadvantages of tissue expansion such as time loss, physical disfigurement, discomfort, extra operation and costs.
