    Notes: Metal Complexes of Biologically Important Ligands, LXVII[1]. - Synthesis of α-Amino Acids from Palladium(II)- and Rhodium(III)-Coordinated Imines and Oximes of α-OxocarboxylatesThe bis-chelate complexes Pd[O2CC(R1)=NOR2]2 (1) and Pd[O2CC(R1)=NR2]2 (2, R2 optically active substituent) are synthesized by template condensation of an α-oxocarboxylic acid with a hydroxylamine or amine component, respectively. Similarly, the Rh(III) complexes Cp*Rh(Cl)[O2CC(R)=N(CHMePh)] (3a: R = H, 3b: R = Me) were obtained from α-oxocarboxylic acids and optically active 1-phenylethylamine. Catalytic hydrogenation of 1 and 2 gives directly the free α-amino acids with, in case of 2, ee's between 0 and 36%. Nucleophilic attack by the carbanions of RC(O)CH2CO2Et and H2NCH(CO2Et)2 at the imino carbon atom of 3a leads to the α-amino carboxylato complexes 4 and 5. - Compounds 4a and 5 have been characterized by X-ray diffraction. Reaction of 3a with NaBH4 or NaBD4 followed by decomposition of the complex with HCl yields N-substituted glycine and N-substituted α-deuterio-glycine, respectively. The diastereoselectivity (70:30) of the α-deuteration could be determined by NMR spectroscopy.

Complexes of Platinum(II), Palladium(II), Nickel(II), and Copper(II) with 1-Amino-1-cyclopropanecarboxylic Acid DerivativesMetal complexes with the anion of 1-amino-1-cyclopropanecarboxylic acid (2a - d), its ethyl ester (3a - c), with Schiff bases from this α-amino acid and amide acetal (4a - d), pyruvic acid (5a - d), and salicylaldehyde (6a - c, 7a,b), respectively, have been prepared. The compounds are characterized by their spectra. The X-ray structure analysis at -90°C of 3a shows nearly equal C - C bond lengths for the cyclopropane ring.
    Notes: Die Darstellung von Metallkomplexen mit dem Anion von 1-Amino-1-cyclopropancarbonsäure (2a - d), mit dessen Ethylester (3a - c), mit Schiff-Basen aus dieser α-Aminosäure und Amidacetal (4a - d), Brenztraubensäure (5a - d) und Salicylaldehyd (6a - c, 7a,b) wird beschrieben. Die Verbindungen werden spektroskopisch charakterisiert. Die bei -90°C durchgeführte Röntgenstrukturanalyse von 3a zeigt annähernd gleiche C - C-Abstände im Cyclopropanring.

    Description / Table of Contents: Metal Complexes of Biologically Important Ligands, XLVI1.- Platinum (II) Complexes with Precursors of Unsaturated π-Amino Acidsα-Amino acid ester complexes cis-Cl2Pt(NH2CHRCO2Et)2 (R = H, Me, CH2CHMe2) react with tert-butyl hypochlorite to give N-chloro-α-amino acid ester complexes trans-Cl2Pt[NH(Cl)CHR-CO2Et]2. Dependent on the substituents 4-alkylidene-1,3-oxazolidine-2,5-dione is added to (Ph3P)2Pt(C2H4) by the C=C or the NH bond, respectively. The structure of the hydrido imido complex trans-(Ph3P)2(H)Pt— (4c) has been determined by X-ray analysis.
    Notes: Die α-Aminosäureester-Platinkomplexe cis-Cl2Pt(NH2CHRCO2-Et)2 (R = H, Me, CH2CHMe2) setzen sich mit tert-Butylhypochlorit zu den N-Chlor-α-aminosäureester-Verbindungen trans-Cl2Pt[NH(Cl)CHRCO2Et]2 um. 4-Alkyliden-1,3-oxazolidin-2,5-dion wird an (Ph3P)2Pt(C2H4) in Abhängigkeit von den Substituenten über die C—C-Doppel- oder die NH-Bindung addiert. Die Struktur des Hydrido-imido-Komplexes trans-(Ph3P)2(H)Pt—(4c) wurde durch Kristallstrukturanalyse bestimmt.

    Description / Table of Contents: Metal Complexes with Biologically Important Ligands, XLV.  -  Palladium (II) Complexes of Dehydro-α-amino and 2-Imino Acid Esters as LigandsThe preparation and spectroscopic data of the complexes (1) and (6) and of [(OC)5Re—H2NC(CO2Me)=CH(Ph)]+ BF4- (2) are reported. The reactions of dehydroamino acid esters R(ROC)-C=C(CO2R)NH2 with Na2PdCl4 give 1-imino-3-ketonato chelate complexes (3), of which one resentative (3b) has been characterized by X-ray structure analysis. For comparison the structure of the dehydroamino acid derivative OC(Me)C(CO2Et)=C(CO2Et)NH2 (4) has also been determined. Palladium(II) binds the anion of dehydroarmentomycin via the N,O atoms (8). This coordination is also found with (η5-C5H5)(OC)2Mo and allylglycinate (9).
    Notes: Die Darstellung und die spektroskopischen Daten der Komplexe (1) und (6) sowie von [(OC)5Re—H2NC(CO2Me)=CH(Ph)]+ BF4- (2) werden beschrieben.Die Dehydroaminosäureester R(ROC)C=C(CO2R)NH2 setzen sich mit Na2PdCl4 zu 1-Imino-3-ketonato-Chelakomplexen (3) um, von denen ein Vertreter (3b) durch Röntgenstrukturanalyse charakterisiert wurde. Zum Vergleich wurde auch die Molekülstruktur des Dehydroaminosäurederivats OC(Me)C(CO2Et)=C(CO2Et)NH2 (4) röntgenographisch bestimmt. Das Anion von Dehydroarmentomycin ist an Palladium(II), das von Allylglycin an (η5-C5H5)(OC)2Mo jeweils N,O-koordiniert (8,9).
