Synthesis, Structure, and Some properties of 1,2,3-Benzodithiazolium Salts4,6,7a-Tri-tert-butyl-7aH-1,2,3-benzodithiazole (3) reacts with phosphorus pentachloride with elimination of tert butyl chloride to form benzodithiazolium chloride 4a. The chloride 4a reacts with SbCl5 and AgAsF6 to yield the hexachloroantimonate 4b and the hexafluoroarsenate 4c, respectively. The structure 4b was established by an X-ray analysis. 4b crystallizes in the space group P21/c with a=1243.9(2), b=1525.6(2), c=1255.7(2) pm, β=102.86(1)° and V=2323(1) · 106 pm3. The structure consists of isolated [C14H20NS2]+ cations and [SbCl6]- anions. The cation is planar within experimental accuracy.

4,6,7a-Tri-tert-butyl-7aH-1,2,3-benzodithiazol (3) reagiert mit Phosphorpentachlorid unter tert-Butylchloridabspaltung zum Benzodithiazoliumchlorid 4a. Das Chlorid 4a läßt sich mit SbCl5 und AgAsF6 in das Hexachloroantimonat 4b und Hexafluoroarsenat 4c überführen. Die Konstitution 4b wird durch Röntgenstrukturanalyse gesichert. 4b kristallisiert in der Raumgruppe P21/c mit den Gitterkonstanten a = 1243.9(2), b = 1525.6(2), c = 1255.7(2) pm, β = 102.86(1)° und V = 2323(1) · 106 pm3. Die Struktur besteht aus isolierten [C14H20NS2]+-Kationen und [SbCl6]--Anionen. Das Kation ist innerhalb der Meßgenauigkeit planar gebaut.
