Zusammenfassung Eine fluorimetrische Methode zur Bestimmung von p. p. b.-Konzentrationen von Samarium in Gegenwart anderer Seltener Erden wurde ausgearbeitet. Sie beruht auf der Bildung eines Durchdringungskomplexes von Samarium mit 1,1,1,5,5,5-Hexafluoro-2,4-pentandion in absolutem Alkohol. Dieser Komplex zeigt ein für Samarium charakteristisches Fluoreszenzmaximum, so daß die Methode selektiv ist.

Summary A fluorimetric method for parts per billion concentrations of Samarium in the presence of other rare earth ions has been developed. The method utilizes a charge transfer complex between 1,1,1,5,5,5-hexafluoro-2,4-pentanedione and samarium in absolute ethanol. This complex shows a fluorescence emission maximum characteristic of the Samarium, which accounts for the selectivity of the method.
