Weak acidic cational exchange fibers were obtained by means of preirradiation-induced graft copolymerization of methacrylic acid, acrylic acid, and diglycol acrylate onto polypropylene nonwoven fabric with electron beam. Effects that influence grafting and the exchange adsorptive property of the ion-exchange fibers obtained toward transition and rare-earth metal ions have been investigated. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
