Notes: [Auszug] The mechanism underlying the autoimmune polyglandular syndrome type-1 (APS1) has been attributed to defective T-cell negative selection resulting from reduced expression and presentation of autoantigens in thymic medullary epithelial cells (MECs). It has also been postulated that Aire is involved ...

Notes: The fatigue behaviors of a directionally solidified (DS) nickel base superalloy, coated witha MCrAlY coating (NiCrAlYSi) were studied. Two kinds of tests were performed. One kind of testsare low cycle fatigue (LCF) test under strain control at different temperatures, another kind of testsare stress controlled LCF test with SEM-servo hydraulic testing machine for in situ crackingobservation. The results show that the effect of coating on LCF life of coating/substrate system wasrather different according to different strain levels and temperatures. The coating has no or less effecton LCF life under high strain range and the LCF life is governed by fatigue behavior of substrate inspite of the difference of temperature. However, when strain range is smaller, crack initiation andpropagation are observably affected by temperature, which leads to a shorter LCF life ofcoating/substrate system at 500ºC and a longer LCF life at 760ºC or 980ºC. This means the failure ofcoating/substrate system is dominated by the cracking of surface coating under low strain range. Thebrittleness at 500ºC lower than DBTT results in rapid stage II crack propagation. The crack initiationfrom coating surface was in situ observed at room temperature and 700 ºC and it was found thatcracks usually initiated from the surface roughness of coating and then propagate to failure. Thebrittleness and surface roughness are the basic acceptable causes leading to the early damage of acoating/substrate system

Notes: The isothermal low cycle fatigue (LCF) behaviors of a directionally solidified (DS) nickelbase superalloy, coated with a NiCrAlYSi coating were studied. The study concerned NiCrAlYSicoating formed by an arc-discharged physical vapor deposition (PVD) process for protection againsthigh-temperature corrosion and oxidation of gas turbine blades. The effect of protective coating onLCF life of coating/substrate system was investigated at high temperatures and compared withuncoated alloy. The test results show that coating has no or less effect on LCF life under high strainrange and the LCF life is governed by the fatigue behavior of substrate at different temperatures. However, when strain range is smaller, crack initiation and propagation are observably affected bytemperature, which leads to a shorter LCF life of coating/substrate system at 500ºC and a longer LCFlife at 760ºC or 980ºC

Notes: The mechanical properties of various parts of the welding-line material are different, while they play very important role in the welding structures, such as the differences of the meltedpart and the temperature-affected part. In this paper, a non-contacting laser based technique, ISDG(Interference Strain Displacement Gauge) method, is applied to find out these property differenceson very small specimen. The testing is very successful and the whole stress-strain curves in suchsmall scale are obtained on different parts of the welding-line material. The soften phenomena ofthe temperature-affected part is observed by the comparison of the Young’s modulus and yieldstress between the melted part and the temperature-affected part

Notes: A micro-scale uniaxial tension test method for measuring material mechanical propertiesof thin film materials is introduced in this paper. A self-developed test device is established basedon the CMT8202 tension test machine. The Interference Strain/Displacement Gauge (ISDG)method is used to measure the strain in the micro-samples. The three dimensional finite elementmethod (FEM) is utilized to optimize specimen geometry configuration and to reduce the stressconcentration in specimen around grip region. The experiments are carried out for thepolycrystalline copper thin film. The results show that stress-strain curves and the Young’s modulusof the thin film material can be obtained by micro-scale tension test. The Young’s modulusdetermined by micro-sample for polycrystalline copper thin film has a good agreement withpublished results
