    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Anticorneale Antikörpertiter wurden bei 39 Pat. bestimmt. Die Titer stiegen postoperativ zunächst an, zwei Jahre später waren sie negativ. Beim Keratoconus konnten zunächst keine anticornealen Antikörper nachgewiesen werden. Ein Jahr später waren die Befunde jedoch ausnahmslos positiv. Das postoperative Auftreten, der Anstieg und schließlich das Verschwinden der anticornealen Antikörper scheint die Regel zu sein. Beziehungen zwischen diesen Vorgängen, dem Vorhandensein von Trübungen bzw. der schließlich resultierenden Transparenz des Transplantates ließen sich jedoch nicht feststellen.
    Notes: Summary We determined anticorneal antibody titers in 39 patients. The titer values rose after transplant surgery and became negative 2 years later. In the keratoconus cases we could never demonstrate anticorneal. antibodies before the operation; one year later, however, they all yielded positive results. The postoperative sequence of appearance, rise, disappearance of the anticorneal antibody titer seems to be regular, but we could not find any relation between these events and the opacification or lasting transparency of the transplant.

Sie stellen fest, daß Transplantationen zwischen identischen Gruppen des ABO-Systems eine größere Wahrscheinlichkeit haben, mit Erfolg zu enden, falls mindestens 2 HL-A Antigene des Spenders und des Empfängers identisch sind; ein Umstand, der besonders dann wichtig ist, wenn die Überpflanzung in ungünstige, vaskularisierte Umgebung erfolgt.
    Notes: Summary After briefly describing the conceptions of the HL-A antigens and of histocompatibility, the authors give an account of their own retrospective examinations in connection with keratoplasty. Transplantations between identical groups of the ABO-system have a greater probability of ending successfully, if at least 2 HL-A antigens of donor and recipient are identical; this being chiefly important when grafting is carried out into unfavourable, vascularized surroundings.

In more than 1/3 of the animals there developped uveitis and keratitis, the origin of which could be traceable to an immunpathologic mechanism.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Es wird die Auslösbarkeit des „Hydralazin-Erythematodes“ an Meerschweinchen durch die Verabreichung von Apresolin per os und in Verbindung mit inkomplettem Freund-Adjuvans intramuskulär versucht. An einem Teil der Tiere entwickelten sich Uveitis und Keratitis. Hieraus liegt für die Genese dieser Augenerkrankungen ein Immunpathomechanismus nahe.

    Notes: Zusammenfassung Zur Verhinderung der Vascularisation des Transplantats nach Keratoplastik führt der Verfasser eine perorale Prednisolon-Therapie aus. Seiner Meinung nach muß die Bildung von Antikörpern im Organismus und die Gefäßproliferation gehemmt werden, da diese die Gesamtheit des Organismus betreffenden Reaktionen allein mit der Lokalbehandlung des Auges nicht beseitigt werden können. Auf diese Weise heilten die Transplantate von acht in die 2. und weitere acht in die 3. Prognosegruppe gehörenden Fälle ohne Vascularisation und durchsichtig ein. Schädliche Nebenwirkungen wurden nicht beobachtet. Die Scheibe wird mit Knotennähten aus Biosutur eingenäht.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Die Autoren untersuchten in 26 Keratoplastik-Fällen die Rolle der cellulären Immunität mittels der Methode (I) der lymphoblastischen Transformation. In nur einem Fall konnte eine signifikante Blast-Transformation beobachtet werden, es handelte sich um einen Zustand nach Kalkverätzung. In den übrigen Fällen waren die Resultate negativ. Außerdem wurde bei 10 auf Keratoplastik wartenden Patienten und 10 Patienten mit Katarakt die celluläre Immunreaktion gegen Cornealantigen mit Hilfe des (II) Migrationstestes der Leukocyten (LMT) untersucht. Die Veränderung der cellulären Immun-Reaktion gegen Hornhaut-Antigen wurde verschieden lange nach der Keratoplastik untersucht. Dabei konnte nachgewiesen werden, daß der LMT nach Keratoplastik positiv wurde (Inhibition oder Stimulation der Migration). Die bei Keratoplastik-Patienten durch die mit kornealem Antigen erhaltenen Resultate der LMT-Untersuchungen könnten in gewissem Sinne zum Verständnis der Vorgänge in der postoperativen Phase beitragen und auch zu einer eventuell notwendig werdenden immunosuppressiven Therapie Anlaß geben.
    Notes: Summary Authors examined the role of the cellular immunity by the method (I) of lymphoblastic transformation in 26 keratoplasty cases. Only in one case did they observe significant blast transformation, in this case the keratoplasty was necessary after injury with lime. In the rest of the cases no positive result were ever obtained. They investigated the cellular immunoreactivity of 10 patients waiting for keratoplasty and 10 cataractous patients against cornea antigen by means (II) of the Leucocyte Migration Test (LMT). The change of the cellular immuno-reactivity against cornea antigen was examined on the 1st, 4th, 7th, 14th, 21st, and 28th days after keratoplasty. It could be estabilished that after keratoplasty the LMT became positive (inhibition or stimulation of migration). The results of the LMT investigations obtained on keratoplasty patients by cornea antigen may be of some help for the understanding of the events in the postoperative phase and sometimes also may eventually require immunosuppressive therapy.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary On rabbits corneae were lime-burns laid. The second, fourth and sixth day afterwards were lamellar keratoplasties of 10 mm diameter carried out. The results showed so much the better, the earlier the removal of the lime depot took place. The most serious consequence of the lime injury is the clouding of the cornea. To prevent it, the first task is the removal of the lime from the cornea; the treatment of the conjunctiva is following.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung In Kaninchenversuchen wurden experimentelle Kalkverätzungen der Hornhäute erzeugt. Am 2., 4. und 6. Tag nach der Verätzung wurden dann lamelläre Keratoplastiken von 10 mm Durchmesser ausgeführt. Die Untersuchungen ergaben, daß die Erfolge um so besser waren, je früher das in der Hornhaut vorhandene Kalkdepot durch eine Keratoplastik entfernt wurde. Der schwerste Folgezustand nach Kalkverätzungen ist die Hornhauttrübung. Daher muß zu allererst der in die Hornhaut eingedrungene Kalk entfernt werden und danach die Behandlung der Bindehaut erfolgen.

Das Medikament verringert die immunbiologischen Reaktionen, dadurch auch die Erfolge der Keratoplastik verbessernd. Es ist sogar die Möglichkeit der Homotransplantation von Haut und Bindehaut vorhanden. Diesbezügliche Experimente sind im Gange.
