    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Mit Hilfe eines bogenförmig der Bulbuskrümmung angepaßten Schlitzstrahlers wurden mit 8 mm-Mikrowellen transsklerale Coagulationen bei Austrittsleistungen von 0,1, 0,5, 1,0 und 2,5 W und 30 sec und 60 sec langer Einwirkungszeit am Kaninchenauge durchgeführt. Die dabei beobachteten ophthalmoskopischen und histologischen Veränderungen sind durch die thermische Wirkung zu erklären. Die Temperaturerhöhung bei Mikrowellenbestrahlung wurde am Wasserphantom gemessen. Bei geeigneter Dosierung lassen sich feste chorioretinale Narben erzielen, so daß die Anwendung von Mikrowellen zur Ablatiochirurgie möglich erscheint.
    Notes: Summary Transscleral coagulations with 8 mm microwaves were carried out by use of an arched slotted radiator adapted to the rabbit eye with the output of 0.1, 0.5, 1.0, and 2.5 W and 30 and 60 sec irradiation time. Ophthalmoscopical and histological findings were evoked by thermic effects. The increase of temperature during microwave irradiation was measured in a water phantom. It seems possible to use microwave applicators in retinal detachment surgery, because fast chorioretinal scars can be obtained by suitable dose.
