    Description / Table of Contents: Summary We compared the total lipids, the total esterified fatty acids, the Lipid phosphorous and the cholesterol fractions in isolated leukocytes of 14 chronic lymphatic leukemias, 10 chronic myeloic leukemias and 5 acute myeloblastic leukemias with the lipid fractions in isolated leukocytes of normal persons. The total lipids and the total esterified fatty acids gave a relation of 1:2:3 in chronic lymphatic leukemia: chronic myeloic leukemia: normal. If at all esterified cholesterol was present only in small amounts. These results are compared with the findings in literature.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Bei 14 Patienten mit chronischer lymphatischer Leukämie, 10 Patienten mit chronischer myeloischer Leukämie und 5 Patienten mit akuter Myeloblastenleukämie wurden in isolierten Leukocyten die Gesamtlipide, die veresterten Fettsäuren, der Lipidphosphor, das freie Cholesterin und das Gesamtcholesterin bestimmt und mit den bei Normalpersonen gefundenen Werten verglichen. Dabei fand sich bei Gesamtlipiden und veresterten Fettsäuren ein Verhältnis von 1:2:3 entsprechend chronische Lymphadenose: chronische Myelose: normal. Verestertes Cholesterin war — wenn überhaupt — nur in geringen Mengen nachweisbar. Die Ergebnisse werden mit den Angaben in der Literatur verglichen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary The phospholipid composition of leucocytes from 11 patients with chronic myeloic leukemia and 3 patients with chronic lymphatic leukemia were investigated by thin-layerchromatography. The results are compared with literature. The main phospholipid fractions are lecithine and colamincephaline. There are differences of phospholipid-composition between leukocytes and plasma on one hand and between lymphatic leukemia and myeloic leukemia/normal leukocytes on the other.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Es wird über die dünnschichtchromatographische Bestimmung der einzelnen Phospholipoidfraktionen in isolierten Leukocyten von 11 Patienten mit chronischer Myelose und 3 Patienten mit chronischer Lymphadenose berichtet. Die Ergebnisse werden mit den in der Literatur mitgeteilten Werten verglichen. Lecithin und Colaminkephalin machen den Hauptanteil der Phospholipoide aus. Unterschiede bestehen einmal gegenüber den Plasmawerten und zum anderen zwischen Lymphadenosen einerseits und Myelosen und Normalen andererseits.

    Description / Table of Contents: Summary The lipids in normal human Leukocytes — isolated by a method described previously — were determined by microliter-methods. We found the following average values per 109 cells: total lipids 15,56 mg, lipidphosphorus 0,42 mg, phospholipids 10,43 mg, total cholesterol 2,83 mg, unesterified cholesterol 2,32 mg and total esterified fatty acids 6,48 mg.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Es wird über Lipidbestimmungen in normalen menschlichen Leukocyten mit Mikrolitermethoden und einem früher beschriebenen Leukocytenisolierungsverfahren berichtet. Dabei fanden sich als Mittelwerte pro 109 Zellen: 15,56 mg Gesamtlipide, 0,42 mg Lipoidphosphor entsprechend 10,43 mg Phospholipoiden, 2,83 mg Gesamtcholesterin, 2,32 mg freies Cholesterin und 6,48 mg Esterfettsäure.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung In der vorliegenden Untersuchung wurde das Thyrotropin-Releasing-Hormon (TRH) mit125J markiert. Die spez. Aktivität betrug 600 mCi/mg. Die chemische Integrität wurde dünnschichtchromatographisch und die biologische Aktivität im Hypophysendepletionstest nachgewiesen. Die pharmakokinetischen Untersuchungen an Mäusen ergaben eine 50% ige Verschwinderate aus dem Blut von 2′. Die höchste Radioaktivitätsanreicherung zeigte die Hypophyse. Fast ebensogroß war die Organradioaktivität in der Niere. Die Ausscheidung erfolgt hauptsächlich über den Urin. Die übrigen Organe wie Leber, Schilddrüse und Gehirn zeigten im Vergleich zu Hypophyse und Niere einen niedrigen Radioaktivitätsgehalt.
    Notes: Summary In these investigations the Thyrotropin Releasing Hormone (TRH) was labelled with125I. The specific activity calculated was 600 mCi/mg. The chemical integrity was proved by means of thinlayer chromatography and the biological activity by the pituitary depletion test. Pharmacokinetic studies in mice showed a 50% disappearance time of 2 minutes. The highest accumulation of radioactivity was achieved in the pituitary. The radioactivity content to the kidney was nearly as high as that of the pituitary.125I-TRH was found to be excreted mainly in the urine. In the liver, thyroid gland, cerebral cortex and hypothalamus the radioactivity content was low in comparison to that of the pituitary and the kidney.
