Abstract The surface tensions of aqueous solutions containing sodium octylbenzenesulfonate were measured by means of a processor tensiometer at 20°, 25°, 30° and 35°C. A test for the layer model and thickness of the adsorbed phase is proposed. By means of a linear regression the surfactant area at liquid/air interface was calculated. Finally, the molar-and surface-related thermodynamic functions were discussed.
