The Reaction of 3-Iminopyrazolidine with Carbonyl Compounds3-Iminopyrazolidine. H2SO4 (1) reacts with aldehydes or ketones RR′CO to give hydrogen-sulphates of 3-imonio-l-alkylidene(aralkylidene)pyrazolidine N, N-betaines (2) which may be converted to neutral salts (4, 5). Chemical behaviour, n. m. r., and i. r. spectra show that 2, 4, and 5 are salts of „iminostabilized“ azomethinimines. Catalytic hydrogenation of 2, 4, and 5 yields ca. 100% of 1-substituted 3-iminopyrazolidines (3), which predominantly exist as the imino-tautomers. They are hydrolyzed to the corresponding 3-pyrazolidones (7). A general synthesis for 3 and 7 starting from RR′CO and crude 1, which contains surplus H2SO4, is described.

3-Imino-pyrazolidin.H2SO4 (1) liefert mit Carbonylverbindungen RR′CO 3-Imonio-l-alkyliden(aralkyliden)-pyrazolidin-N.N-betain-hydrogensulfate (2), die sich in neutrale Salze (4, 5) überführen lassen. Chemische Eigenschaften, NMR- und IR-Spektren weisen 2, 4 und 5 als Salze „iminostabilisierter“ Azomethin-imine aus. Sie werden quantitativ zu 1-substituierten 3-Imino-pyrazolidinen (3) hydriert, diese zu entsprechenden Pyrazolidonen-(3) (7) hydrolysiert. 3 liegt vorwiegend in der tautomeren Iminoform vor. Eine allgemeine, von rohem H2SO4-haltigem 1 und RR′CO ausgehende Synthese von 3 und 7 wird beschrieben.
