Notes:
A field-theoretic treatment of biological evolution is presented. This treatment (evolutionary field theory) leads to the decomposition of biological evolution, at the molecular level, into permutational and substitutional evolution. The mathematical distinction between these latter two types of evolution is investigated and a nonlinear/linear classification results.
