Description / Table of Contents: Contents The determination of the fundamental parameters of a doublet-structure is achieved by a new numerical method based on a coupling between a Fourier-integral-representation of the structure with a linearized least squares procedure. There are only two a priori assumptions concerning the profile function of the doublet-components: axial symmetry in respect to the line centers and equality of the profiles except of an affine transformation of the ordinate values (K≠1). The results of the doublet analyzing technique are presented.

Notes: [Auszug] In near-field imaging, resolution beyond the diffraction limit of optical microscopy is obtained by scanning the sampling region with a probe of subwavelength size. In recent experiments, single molecules were used as nanoscopic probes to attain a resolution of a few tens of nanometres. ...

Notes: Abstract The hyperfine structure of the transitions 4f 7 6p 9 P 3,4,5−4f 7 6s 9 S 4,7 S 3 in the spark spectrum of europium was investigated by a digital recording double-Fabry-Perot-spectrometer. Enriched samples of151Eu and153Eu were used in hollow cathode light sources cooled in liquid air. As the hyperfine splitting of the9 P levels was not completely resolved the patterns were analysed by a computer. TheA- andB-values of the9 P levels were determined for both isotopes. Together with the experimentalA-values of the7 P levels theseA-values were used to check the eigenfunctions ofBordarier, Judd, andKlapisch, which have been calculated for intermediate coupling. Good agreement between observed and calculatedA-values was reached only if the spherical-symmetric part of the magnetic hyperfine interaction operator of the 6p-electron was used as a free parameter. In this way the configuration interaction between 4f 7 6p and 4f 6 6s 6d can be taken into account. Fortunately this mixing does not affect the quadrupole interaction. Therefore the quadrupole moments were derived from the measuredB-values using the unperturbed eigenfunctions. The resultsQ(151Eu)=(1.12 ±0.07) · 10−24 cm2 andQ(153Eu)=(2.85 ± 0.18) · 10−24cm2 are in complete agreement with the values obtained byMüller, Steudel, andWalther in the 4f7 6s 6p levels of the arc spectrum of europium. The values found for the hyperfine anomaly agree very well with the values derived from levels in Eu I and Eu III.

Notes: Abstract Using 4 mg of radiogenic Os187 the hyperfine structure of this isotope has been investigated with a recording Fabry-Perot interferometer. From the measurement of intensities and distances of the hyperfine-structure components in three fine-structure lines the spin and the magnetic moment of the Os187 nucleus have been determined to beI=1/2 andμ I =+(0,0652±0,0011) n.m. In three fine-structure lines the isotopic shift has been measured and the relative isotopic shift of Os187 has been found to be $$\frac{{\Delta v(Os^{192} - Os^{187} )}}{{\Delta v(Os^{192} - Os^{190} )}} = 3,09 \pm 0,03$$ . The two classifications of the fine-structure line λ 4261 Å have been verified by observing both transitions in Os187.

Notes: Abstract: We report on hyperfine structure measurements in 21 lines of atomic niobium in the spectral region from 640 nm to 870 nm by means of optogalvanic laser spectroscopy and laser induced fluorescence spectroscopy using a hollow cathode discharge and a tunable single-mode cw ring laser. Hyperfine structure constants A and B of altogether 29 excited energy levels were determined, 18 of them for the first time.

Notes: Abstract The hyperfine structure of several spectral lines of the neutral tantalum atom was investigated by means of saturated optogalvanic laser spectroscopy. From the spectra, we have determined the magnetic hyperfine interaction constants A and the electric quadrupole interaction constants B of 14 levels with even parity and 23 levels of odd parity.

Notes: Abstract Performing Doppler-free laserspectroscopic investigations in the red wavelength region (640–670 nm) we were able to determine 10A-factors and 9B-factors of atomic cobalt levels. Now precise values of 18A-factors and 16B-factors of levels belonging to the configurations (3d+4s)9 are known. Fitting of the one-electron radial parameters to introduce agreement between experimental and theoretical hfs constants allows the prediction of hfs constants of not yet investigated fine structure levels. Values of the electric quadrupole moment of the Co59 nucleus are determined in two electron configurations. The resulting mean value of the spectroscopic quadrupole moment isQ=0.35(3) barn.

Notes: Abstract The TaI line 6356.14 Å, up to now classified as the transition 5d 36s 2 a 4 P 5/2−5d 36s(a 5 F)6p z 4 F 7 2/0 , is a blend with a second transition, which is related to the additional levels 5d 4(b 3 G)6s a 4 G 9/2−39641.24 cm−1 J=7/2°. Using laser excitation with optogalvanic and laser-induced fluorescence detection, the hyperfine constants of the four levels involved and the distance of the center wavelengths of the two fine structure transitions could be determined.
