By means of neutron diffraction the magnetic structure of FeTa2O6 has been determined. The observed magnetic reflexions define a unit cell 2a, b, 2c. In order to match the tetragonal symmetry this cell must be enlarged again, which results in the final magnetic cell 2a, 2b, 2c with the magnetic space group Ic41/a. The structure contains two sublattices with the cells 2a, b, 2c and a, 2b, 2c, the moments of which are perpendicular to each other. The moments lie in the a/b plane and form an angle of φ = 45° with the a axis. The spin quantum number is found to be S = 2.04.
