Notes: Abstract.  A dynamic Monte-Carlo program, including an improved BIGS (Bombardment-Induced Gibbsian Segregation) model was employed to study the matrix effect of BIGS and its influence on Cu depletion at the subsurface under 1 keV Ar-ion bombardment of a Cu–Ni alloy. The calculation results show that not only at high fluences (the steady state) but also at low fluences, the Cu subsurface depletion depends on its bulk composition. This is because the atomic jump rate W 21 of Cu from the second layer to the first layer is correlated to Cu bulk composition at any fluence. We also found that the product of the non-segregating species concentration at the first layer with the segregating species concentration at the second layer plays a more important role than other parameters in determining W 21 under low current conditions.

Notes: This paper introduce a way to prepare Guizhou palygorskite mineral nanoparticles bydry-wet ball milling and modified its surface, with adding it in pre-polymer and dispersing withsupersonic disperser. Then it introduced preparing the tung oil phenolic-formaldehyde (TPF)/nano-palygorskite composite resin by situ. The TENSOR27 IR and JEM-2000FX II test shown thatthe nano-palygorskite particles embedded in the polymer and they were more evenly dispersed. ByNETZSCHSTA409 thermal analyzer for TG analysis, the elevated of compound PF has beenenhanced

Notes: Assembly sequences can be represented by a Petri net(PN) which characterizes dynamicsystem changes and provides a tool for obtaining optimal assembly sequences. In this study someassembly operation constraints are considered in order to obtain more practical sequences which areconformed to real situations. In order to enhancing the efficiency of the assembly sequenceplanning, knowledge-based Petri net, combining an usual Petri net with expert’s knowledge andexperiences, is proposed to construct the assembly model. With the complexity of the product, theproduct’s assembly model size will be too large to analysis. So the basic subnets are used to reducethe large PN. And the reduced version can be used for the analysis of the original PN. To verify thevalidity and efficiency of the approach, a variety of assemblies including some complicatedproducts from industry are tested, and the corresponding results are also presented

Notes: This paper presents an automatic pipe-routing algorithm for pipelines with branches in anelectromechanical product. The algorithm uses chaos theory to establish the chaos gridpre-processing model (CGPM) that can efficiently pick up solution space and reduce the searchrange. A novel particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm is developed to seek for anapproximate optimal trajectory in the solution space. Experiments show that the modified PSOalgorithm is effective and efficient. The examples demonstrate that the automatic pipe-routingalgorithm is effective and practical for pipelines with branches

Notes: Abstract We use a new representation for the semiclassical Green’s function of the Dirac equation in the Coulomb field to find an exact (in the parameter Zα) expression for the amplitudes of small-angle Delbru ck scattering of high-energy photons. The values of these amplitudes agree with those obtained in earlier calculations, but the structure of the expressions is much simpler than that of previously known representations, which makes numerical calculations much easier.

Notes: Abstract The helical splitting amplitudes of a high-energy photon in an external Coulomb field are found exactly with respect to Zα. Both screened and unscreened potentials are investigated. The treatment is carried out within the semiclassical approach, which is valid for small angles between the momenta of all photons. A new representation is used for the semiclassical electronic Green’s function. The resulting expressions are analyzed in detail for the case of transverse components of the momenta of the final photons that are large compared with the electron mass.

Notes: The copper-containing amine oxidase from the yeast Hansenula polymorpha (YAO) has been crystallized and partially solved by molecular replacement. It catalyzes the oxidative deamination of primary amines by molecular oxygen to the corresponding aldehydes, ammonia and hydrogen peroxide. It contains a covalently bound redox cofactor, topa quinone, generated by post-translational modification of a single tyrosine side chain. The crystals of YAO are orthorhombic, with space-group symmetry P212121 and unit-cell dimensions a = 138.8, b = 148.2, c = 234.0 Å and diffract X-rays beyond 2.0 Å resolution. Solution by molecular replacement using the E. coli amine oxidase structure [Parsons, Convery, Wilmot, Yadav, Blakeley, Corner, Philips, McPherson & Knowles (1995). Structure, 3, 1171–1184] as a search model reveals that there are three dimers in the asymmetric unit in a trigonal arrangement having 32 point-group symmetry. The solution agrees well with the self-rotation function of YAO. The non-crystallographic threefold axis lies parallel to a crystallographic twofold screw axis and each dimer has twofold symmetry. Phases from the refined model based on the molecular-replacement solution were used to solve one heavy-atom derivative. Model building from the unbiased isomorphous replacement phases is in progress.

Notes: The structures of the 1223 and 2212 phases of the T1-Ba-Ca-Cu-O system have been determined at 125 K. No satellite reflections were observed in extensive searches at both room and low temperature. The temperature dependence of the thermal parameters of the thallium atoms confirms the presence of a static disorder beyond that already incorporated in the refinements.
