Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Die relative Wirksamkeit von synthetischem Secretin (Wünsch) und reinem natürlichen Secretin ohne Zusatz von Cysteinhydrochlorid (Mutt) sowie von reinem natürlichem Secretin mit Zusatz von Cysteinhydrochlorid (G.I.H. E/µg (Parameter: Volumensekretion) bzw. 3,88 klin. E/µg (Parameter: Bicarbonatsekretion) gegenüber dem Secretin mit Zusatz von Cysteinhydrochlorid (G.I.H. Research Unit). Natürliches Secretin (Mutt) hat eine biologische Aktivität gegenüber dem Secretin mit Zusatz von Cysteinhydrochlorid (G.I.H. Research Unit) von annähernd 3,52 klin. E/µg (Parameter: Volumensekretion) bzw. 3,48 klin. E/µg (Parameter: Bicarbonatsekretion).
Notes: Summary The relative potency of synthetic secretin (Wünsch), of pure natural secretin without cysteine hydrochloride (Mutt) and of pure natural secretin with cysteine hydrochloride (G.I.H. Research Unit) was investigated on 10 anesthetized mongrel dogs in regard to pancreatic flow and bicarbonate output. Synthetic secretin shows a relative potency of about 100% against natural secretin (Mutt) on a weight for weight basis (parameter: pancreatic flow and bicarbonate output) and a biological activity of approx. 3.58 clin. U/µg (parameter: pancreatie flow) respectively 3.88 clin. U/µg (parameter: bicarbonate output) against secretin with cysteine hydrochloride (G.I.H. Research Unit). The biological activity of natural secretin (Mutt) was approx. 3.52 clin. U/µg (parameter: pancreatic flow), and/or 3.48 clin. U/µg (parameter: bicarbonate output) against secretin with cysteine hydrochloride (G.I.H. Research Unit).

Notes: Abstract After exposing two high field TE011 niobium X-band cavities to different gases including carbon dioxide, and one TM010 cavity to air, no degradation was observed. The cavities were not protected with an anodic oxide layer.

Notes: Abstract Since structure and specifity of amino acid transport systems are basically similar in kidney and intestines it was suspected that rickets associated with hyperaminoaciduria was linked with defective intestinal amino acid uptake. Therefore amino acid absorption from everted sacs of small intestines was studied in 2 piglets suffering from vitamin D dependent rickets, and 7 healthy piglets using 14C labelled amino acids. The experiments revealed an unaffected intestinal absorption in the rachitic animals, whereas the uptake decreased significantly with increasing age of the experimental animals. The results from these studies suggest that regulatory factors in the blood system, e. g. increased level of PTH or lack of specific vitamin D metabolites, do not directly affect amino acid transport systems in kidney and intestines. It is concluded that hyperaminoaciduria has to be mediated through specific and thus far unidentified effects at the tubular cell level.

Notes: [Auszug] During the past months techniques have been developed for producing massive pieces of boron nitride by a pyrolytic process similar to that used to produce pyrolytic graphite. It had been hoped that the boron nitride thus produced would show an improvement in mechanical properties over the ...
