Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary A case of a 55 year old male who dies 7 days after a single inhalation of CCl4 is reported. Following a 48 hr free interval, he developed the classical symptoms of toxic liver necrosis with accompaning nephrosis of the kidneys. The clinical course agreed with the customary findings of CCl4-poisoning. Unusually marked pathologic changes in the brain in the form of widespread diffuse frontal and parietal as well as focal demyelinizations of a kind and extent not previously described by carbon tetrachloride poisonings were seen.
