Conclusions 1. The stable di-(4-dimethylneopentylmethylphenyl)nitroxyl radical was obtained by the action of tert-butyl hydroperoxide, as well as of ozone, on di-(4-dimethylneopentylmethylphenyl)amine. 2. The corresponding pure nitroxyl radicals were obtained by the catalytic oxidation of the 4,4′-dimethoxy- and 4,4′-diethoxydiphenylamines with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of sodium tungstate.
