    Notes: Abstract. We study different aspects of atom lithography with metastable neon atoms. Proximity printing of stencil masks is used to test suitable resists that are sensitive to the internal energy of the atoms, including dodecanethiols on gold and octadecyltrichlorosilanes grown on a SiO2 surface. As an example of patterning the atomic beam with laser light, we create parallel line structures on the surface with a periodicity of half the laser wavelength by locally de-exciting the atoms in a standing quenching wave.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Zur Analyse von Fein-Cadmium (99,99% Cd) werden Spurenverunreinigungen wie Ag, Bi, Cr, Cu, Fe, Ni und Pb an einem Mischkollektor aus CdS, MnO2 und α-Benzildioxim angereichert. Das Spurenkonzentrat wird nach Auflösen in Säure durch Flammen-Atomabsorptions-Spektrometrie (Injektionstechnik) analysiert. Es werden relative Standardabweichungen um 5% erzielt; die Nachweisgrenzen (3σ) liegen — je nach Element — zwischen 0, 1 und 2 μg/g.
    Notes: Summary For the analysis of pure cadmium (99,99% Cd) trace impurities such as Ag, Bi, Cr, Cu, Fe, In, Ni, and Pb are preconcentrated by use of a mixed collector of CdS, MnO2 and α-benzildioxime. After dissolving in acid the trace concentrate is analysed by flame atomicabsorption spectrometry (injection technique). Relative standard deviations of about 5% (N=10) are achieved; depending on the element, the limit of detection (3σ) was found to be between 0.1 and 2 μg/g.
