Notes: [Auszug] A previous interpretation for the scarp was prompted by the recognition that basaltic lava flows which probably form the flanks of Olympus Mons are very resistant to any aeolian erosion3. King and Riehle4 proposed that the volcano has a layered structure with basaltic lava flows capping a base of ...

Notes: [Auszug] In Fig. 1 we compare the variation of annual rainfall recorded at Addis Ababa during the past 72 yr (refs 3?5 and unpublished data from Addis Ababa Geographical Observatory) with the Zurich sunspot number. Both sets of data have been smoothed by plotting 3-yr running means. The rainfall clearly ...

Notes: [Auszug] FLAT-FLOORED craters on the periphery of the lunar maria often contain rilles. Because of their location, Whitford-Stark1 has proposed that these craters are of internal origin and that the mare basins also must be so. Theassumption that "rilles in all internally rilled craters formed at about the ...

Notes: Abstract Object technology has been widely acclaimed as offering a revolution in computing that will resolve a myriad of problems inherent in developing and managing organizational information processing capabilities. Although its foundations arose in computer programming languages, object technology has implications for a wide range of business computing activities including: Programming, Analysis and Design, Information Management, and Information Sharing. We examine six fundamental research frontiers in each activity: Common Business Classes; Organizational Barriers; Applications and Tools; Reuse and Object Management; Standards, Testing, and Metrics; and Technology Investment. The cross product of the business computing activities with these fundamental research frontiers yields a taxonomy within which to position the research needed to realize the promises offered by object technology.
