Summary 1. Sulfur-, phosphorus-, and metal-containing succinimides have been synthesized, and the adsorptivity, corrosivity, and detergent-dispetsant properties of these materials have been investigated. 2. The modification of succinimide chemical structure is accompanied by a decrease in adsorptivity with respect to metals, in the order LZ-325〉LZ-325S〉LZ-325P≃LZ-330. 3. The corrosivity of each additive of the succinimide type with respect to nonferrous metals (bronze, copper, aluminum) is directly related to the adsorptivity of the additivity on these materials. 4. The detergent-dispersant efficiency of the original succinimide additive and the sulfur- and phosphorus-containing modifications are essentially identical, even though they differ in adsorptivity with respect to metals.
