Conclusions A production technology has been developed for fireclay-perlite lightweight products with an apparent density of 0.4 g/cm3 based on raw material from the Latnenskdeposit. Adoption of this technology permitted the structure of the ware to be sharply improved, the duration of drying to be reduced, and the amount of breakage to be decreased. It proved feasible to fire the lightweight products at 1400–1420°C along with the plastically pressed fireclay refractories using an existing schedule.
