Boron Imides from the Thermal Decomposition of DiarylazidoboranesDiarylazidoboranes Ar2BN3 (1a-d) are thermolyzed either into diazadiboretidines (ArBNAr)2 (2) or into borazines (ArBNAr)3 (3). After formation of only one half of the expected amount of N2, the boryltetrazaborolines 4c, d are isolated as intermediates. The boranes 1a-d are transformed into phenyltetrazaborolines 6a-d or into silyltetrazaborolines 7a-d by the action of phenyl or trimethylsilyl azide, respectively; the formation of 7b, d is accompanied by the formation of the open-chain aminoboranes 9b, d. The action of triethylborane on 1a-d yields the diborylamines 5a-d and, moreover, the diborylamines 8a, d, isomeric to 5a, d. The fomation of boron imides ArB=NAr (10a-d) as reaction intermediates is discussed and, in favour of that, the reactions of 1c with O—N(Me)=CH—Ph, yielding 11c, and of 1a, d with B(sBu)3, yielding 5a′, 8a′, 5d′, are referred too.

Die Diarylazidoborane Ar2BN3 (1a-d) gehen beim Erhitzen unter Abspaltung von N2 z. T. in Diazadiboretidine (ArBNAr)2 (2), z. T. in Borazine (ArBNAr)3 (3) über; nach Abspaltung der halben Menge an N2 sind die Boryltetrazaboroline 4c, d als Zwischenprodukte isolierbar. Mit Phenylazid reagieren die Borane 1a-d zu den Phenyltetrazaborolinen 6a-d und mit Trimethylsilylazid zu den entsprechenden Silyltetrazaborolinen 7a-d, doch konkurriert mit der Bildung von 7b, d die Azidosilierung zu den Aminoazidoboranen 9b, d. Mit Triethylboran erhält man aus 1a-d die Diborylamine 5a-d, im Fane von 1a, d daneben noch die zu 5a, d isomeren Diborylamine 8a, d. Es wird diskutiert, inwieweit die beschriebenen Reaktionen über Borimide ArB=NAr (10a-d) als Zwischenstufen verlaufen, und hierzu werden noch die Reaktionen von 1c mit O—N(Me)=CH—Ph zu 11c und von 1a und d mit B(sBu)3 zu 5a′, 8a′ und 5d′ herangezogen.
