Zusammenfassung Zur Beurteilung der Wirksamkeit einer adjuvanten hyperthermen regionalen Cytostaticaperfusion wurden Patienten mit malignen Malanomen der Extremitaten einer prospektiv randomisierten Studie zugeführt. In der Kontrollgruppe (A, n=54) wurden die Tumoren weft im Gesunden excidiert and die regionalen Lymphknoten ausgeräumt. In der zweiten Gruppe (B,n=53) erfolgte zusätzlich die Perfusion mit Melphalan bei Hyperthermie (42 °C). Als Erfolgskriterium wurde die tumorfreie Überlebenszeit gewählt. Nach einer mittleren Nachbeobachtungszeit von 554 Tagen traten in der Kontrollgruppe 21 Rezidive and in der Perfusionsgruppe 4 Rezidive auf (p=0,0001).

Summary To evaluate the effectiveness of adjuvant hyperthermic regional cytostatic perfusion, patients with malignant melanoma of the extremities were included in a prospective randomized study. In the control group (A, n=54) the tumors were excised widely and the regional lymph nodes dissected. The patients in the second group (B, n=53) received additional hyperthermic (42 °C) perfusion with melphalan. We chose the disease-free survival time as the criterion for success. After a mean follow-up period of 554 days, 21 local recurrences occurred in the control group and 4 recurrences in the group having received adjuvant perfusion (p=0.0001).
