Summary A non-woven rayon/polyester cloth was treated with NaOH and activated with 1,1-carbonyldiimidazole. The activated cloth was washed and used without drying to immobilize bovine serum albumin. Drying of the cloth markedly decreased protein immobilization. The advantages of using the activated cloth for industrial affinity chromatography were discussed.
