Notes: Anodic alumina has exhibits a homogeneous morphology of parallel pores that can beeasily controlled between 10 and 400 nm. AAO(Anodic Aluminum Oxide) structure is thetransversely isotropic material due to the parallel pores. In this study, mechanical properties of theAAO structures are measured using the nano-indentation method. Nano-indentation technique is oneof the most effective methods to measure mechanical properties of nano-structures. Investigation ofmechanical properties, such as the indentation modulus and hardness of the AAO structure withvarying nano-pore sizes, was performed using the nano-indentation method. The results showed thatthe indentation modulus and hardness decreases monotically as the pore size increases

Notes: Manufacturing enterprises need to manage many inventory items. To effectively managethe inventory, a usual practice is to classify the inventory items into several groups and use differentmanagement strategies for the items in different groups. ABC classification has been widely used, and has evolved into various multi-criteria classification schemes. Recently, a few multi-criteriaABC classification approaches using variable weights appeared in the literature. This paper analyzestheir properties and proposes an improved approach. A numerical example is included to illustratethe appropriateness of the proposed approach

Notes: A viscoplastic constitutive model with void damage is developed to analyze themacroscopic mechanical response and damage mechanism of lead-free solder alloy in CBGApackaging under cyclic thermal loading. The constitutive model is implemented into ABAQUSthrough its user defined material subroutine. Two-dimensional nonlinear finite element analysis of aceramic ball grid array(CBGA) package is conducted to simulate the viscoplastic deformation anddamage failure process of the lead-free solder joint under cyclic thermal loading. The damage modelis helpful for optimization and reliability of electronic package

Notes: The contact in the valve train system is known to be the part subject to significant load in anautomobile engine. For such reason, the wear of the contact accounts for the greatest portion of entirefriction loss of an engine, leading to the occurrence of abnormal wear. In order to reduce the wear inthe valve train, this study first formed a crn layer to increase the bonding force with the base metalusing the pvd coating method and then applied a 2-layer coating that formed the wc/c layer with lowfriction/wear resistance characteristics. In addition, it examined the friction characteristics occurringbetween the cam and tappet by using the dedicated wear tester and found that the friction torque valuewas reduced significantly through comparison testing with the existing part when the crn+wc/ccoating was applied

Notes: A good method for dispersing Multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) in LDPE matrixby melt processing technique had been developed. The surface of MWNTs was modified by HNO3,then, treated with γ-aminopropyltriethoxy Silane. The surface-modified MWNTs homogeneousLDPE composites with 0-0.35 mass fraction MWNTs loading had been evaluated for electricalconductivity. The composites’ electrical conductivity (σDC) was improved for the good dispersion ofMWNTs in LDPE matrix. The values of σDC obeyed a percolation power law with MWNTsconcentration threshold 0.10 mass fraction. 10-2 s/cm conductivity for 0.15 mass fraction MWNTsloading indicated that the composites could be used as lightweight electrostatic shielding materials

Notes: Thermal insulating latex paint for exterior wall was prepared by water as dispersing media, polyacrylic emulsion as basic material, defibered sepiolite and hollow glass microspheres as main functional additives. The thermal insulation effect and mechanism were studied by thermal insulation effect testing device and visible light reflectance tester. The results show that the optimum contents of functional additives are as follows: 8% defibred sepiolite fibers, 6% hollow glass microspheres. The coating could arrest heat transmission and reflect visible light effectively

Notes: Three kinds of colloidal silica (CS)/silane sol were prepared. Sols are involved with thekinds of silane with different organic group. Methyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS) has the three methoxygroups and a methyl group. γ-Glycidoxypropyltrimethoxysilane (GTMS) has the three methoxygroups and a bulky epoxy group. GTMS was added to two sols with different amount. When solreacted for 10 days, viscosity increased dramatically. Trasnmittance of sols reacted for 10 daysdecreased rapidly, too. It indicated the stability of sol degraded. Sol-gel coating films were formed onglass substrate using spin coating procedure with reaction time for 10 days. Coating films were flatand transparent without cracking. CS/MTMS coating films showed high contact angle. When largeamount of GTMS was added, contact angle decreased due to its epoxy group. No thermal degradationof CS/MTMS coating film occurred up to 600 oC. CS/MTMS/GTMS coating film degraded at 400 oCfor decomposition of epoxy group which has long organic chain which easily degraded by the thermalshock

Notes: This paper advances a new optimization method about material constitutive equation onthe basis of physical simulation and numerical simulation results which basic thinking can bedescribed as the following: through comparing the results of the material deformation process underactual experimental conditions and virtually simulated by the finite element numerical simulationmethod with the constitutive equation established on the basis of the physical simulation, theconstitutive equation established by the experimental data is optimized in turn. Based on it, this paperadvances a visco/plastic constitutive equation to depict the semi-solid thixo-forming and theconstitutive equation is analyzed and optimized through coupling of the physical simulation andnumerical simulation. It is observed that this method can effectively eliminate the influence of thefactor outside material itself on the constitutive equation. So, it can exactly depict the deformationbehavior of the materials and improve the accuracy and reliability of the numerical simulation

Notes: This paper studies FGH96 P/M Superalloy dynamic recrystallization phenomenon underisothermal forging conditions. Curves of work hardening rate θ versus flow stress σ and RTTcurve of dynamic recrystallization are gained through the analysis. At the same time, someparameters are confirmed including peak strain, critical strain and the maximal softening strain. Onthe basis of the analysis, the type of FGH96 P/M Superalloy dynamic recrystallization is exactlyestimated. The quantitative metallography method is adopted to determine the recrystallized grainsize. With combining the obtained data and parameters, FGH96 P/M Superalloy dynamicrecrystallization mathematic model is established by regression method. At the same time, the forgingprocess of FGH96 P/M superalloy is simulated by using software MSC/Superform under differentdeformation conditions such as deformation temperature and deformation velocity. The contourimages of the grain size distribution under different conditions and different deformation degree aregained and analyzed. With the analysis, it is known that the effect of the different deformationconditions on the microstructure of the forging is obvious and there is different distribution of thegrain size on various locations, which indicates that the deformation degree of the billet also hasinfluence on the grain size
