Notes: Rapid prototyping (RP) processes produce parts layer by layer directly from 3D CAD models. Different kinds of rapid prototyping machine (RPM) have been developed with different mechanisms or materials. In this paper, a novel and economic way to build the RP by means of injection nozzles with ultra violet (UV) resins is proposed. The in-house made RPM is constructed with two nozzles. The acrylic series is for body material and the PU series is for the supporting material. There are obvious boundaries since material properties are different. Therefore, supports can be easily removed from the main body after formation. The different diameter of nozzles can be chosen in the system, and the nozzles are also disposable. Besides, an interface system generating the direct slicing from 3D CAD models and nozzle paths for all layers is developed through PowerSOLUTION (Delcam International, Birmingham, UK) macro commands.

Notes: Abstract. A pentagon-shaped undoped BaTiO3 crystal was used to construct a high-quality mutually pumped phase conjugator. It yields two very stable phase-conjugate outputs (±1.7% fluctuation in intensity) with high reflectivity (the highest ≈45%) when the two incident beams are of equal intensities. The response time of the conjugator is rather fast (≈3 s) and the tolerance of the acceptance angle is large too (≈100°). Fine structures (35 μm) in an image, after passing through a phase aberrator, can be recovered by the conjugate waves yielded by this conjugator.

Notes: Abstract The objective of this paper is to investigate the forced motion of nonlinear capillary-gravity waves in a waterfilled circular basin by a harmonic vibration applied to its side wall under Evans's or Hocking's edge condition at a contact line. The forcing frequency is near a resonance frequency under the classical edge condition of the basin. Two complex-amplitude equations for the excited eigenmode at the resonance frequency corresponding to these two edge conditions are derived. The solutions to these equations display quite different behavior and an edge condition indeed has a great influence on the excited surface waves.
