Notes: Abstract The Roper excitation is studied in the chiral bag plus skyrmion hybrid model. The lagrangian is expanded around the classical solution in the hedgehog vibrational mode. In the adiabatic approximation we find a self consistent solution for the fluctuating system of quarks and pions up to the first order of the fluctuations. Only half of the excitation energy was found in the phase shift analysis. It is also discussed that the system is stable for all bag radii against the hedgehog vibration.

Notes: Abstract The recent charge exchange (n,p) and (p,n) reaction data on54Fe is used to determine the importance of Δ-isobar excitations and RPA-type correlations in the quenching of GT strength.

Notes: Abstract We investigate the Skyrme type soliton with vector mesons (ρ, A1 and ω), first in the massive Yang-Mills approach and then using the hidden local symmetry Lagrangian. It is demonstrated that the two schemes give identical results for the soliton properties. A comparison is made with alternative approaches in which the A1 degrees of freedom is eliminated.

Notes: Abstract We study the nuclear properties far from the stability line in the relativistic mean field theory. We find that the parameter set NL 1 provides very good results on binding energies of unstable nuclei, while NL2 results are not good, although both parameter sets give equally good results on nuclear properties for stable nuclei. We discuss the neutron number dependence of the proton and the neutron root mean square radii of proton magic nuclei.
