    Notes: Experimental measurements and studies of x-ray absorption edges have been carried out in Cd(1−x)FexTe with x=0.055 for the L edges of Cd and Te and the K edges of Fe using the synchrotron radiation at ADONE Wiggler facility in Frascati and utilizing the Si/111/ channel-cut crystal monochromator. Experimental results are presented and compared with theoretical calculations based on electronic density of states obtained from results for an ordered ferromagnetic alloy of CdFeTe. Agreement between the experimental results and those based on the theoretical calculations is found to be good. Using a virtual crystal model for the L edges of Te we have extracted the p and s,d projected contributions of FeTe in CdFeTe. The maximum values of these contributions are found to be situated at an energy equivalent to the conduction band edge in CdTe and about 4 eV above this band edge, respectively.
