Notes:
Berlin's theorem concerning the force that acts upon the nuclei in a diatomic molecule is generalized in the form of an invariance property of the electron density of the molecule. It is shown that consequently the notion of binding and antibinding regions in a molecule cannot be maintained, and the use of a promolecular charge density in discussing dynamical aspects of the chemical bond turns out not to be properly founded and to yield doubtful results.
