Notes: Abstract Excited states of the doubly-odd nucleus V6Br have been studied with in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy techniques. In addition to the positive parity band that has been extended up to I=(13) a Iπ=4− isomer (T1/2=0.5±0.2 ns) and two bands of negative parity have been identified. The bands are discussed in terms of two-quasiparticle configurations. For the band built on the 4− isomer the configuration πg9/2⊗νf5/2 or p3/2 is proposed.

Notes: Abstract Excitations up to I=12 have been found in82Kr during an (α, 2n) in-beam experiment. Several levels are interpreted as due to (g9/2)2 neutron excitations. A comparison with g9/2 neutron bands in81, 83Kr and with cranked shell model calculations indicates non-axial deformation in connection with a rotation-aligned band starting with an 8+ level. Non-collective excitations, 8+ (and 6+), have been interpreted as deformation-aligned two-neutron states.

Notes: Abstract Excited states of the doubly-odd nucleus80Br have been studied via the reactions80Se(p, n),80Se(d,2n) and78Se(α, pn) using in-beamγ-ray spectroscopy. A positiveparity level sequence built on aI π=5+ state at 331.04 keV has been found up to spin (10). For this 5+ level de-exciting to the known 5− isomeric state and for the 6+ level at 357.22 keV half-lives of 0.7 and 0.4 ns, respectively, have been determined. Negativeparity states have been observed up to spin (6). For the positive-parity level sequence the configuration (πg 9/2,vg 9/2) and collective excitations are proposed. Some of the negative-parity states are tentatively interpreted as arising from the configurations (πp 3/2,vg 9/2) and (πp 3/2, (vg 9/2) 7 2/3 ).

Notes: Abstract Using methods of in-beam spectroscopy in connection with 35 MeV7Li bombardment of82Se targets four new isomers have been identified. They are observed in83Br at 3070 keV (T1/2=0.6±0.2 μs), in85Rb at 2826 keV (T1/2=12.5±0.6 ns), in85Kr at 1991 keV (T1/2=1.2+ 0.4 1.0 μs) and in86Kr at 2250 keV (T1/2=3.1±0.6 ns). Spin and parity 19/2− have been assigned to the new isomer in85Rb that is interpreted as the coupling of a p3/2 proton to the g 9 2/−2 two-neutron excitation of the N=48 neutron system. Using the TDPAD method an upper limit for the g-factor of ¦g¦≦0.17 has been estimated for this isomer. The same two-neutron excitation is also believed to be responsible for the new isomer in83Br. The new isomers in85Kr and86Kr are interpreted as configurations containing the two-proton excitation (f 5 2/−1 , p 3 2/−1 ) where in the isomeric 17/2+ level of85Kr an additional g9/2 neutron hole is involved.

Notes: Abstract Excited states in85Rb have been studied via the82Se(7Li, 4n) reaction by using in-beamγ-ray spectroscopy. On the basis of new experimental data on coincidence relations, angular distributions and linear polarizations of theγ-rays the yrast sequence has been extended up to a 33/2+ level at 7.1 MeV excitation energy. Using the DSA method mean lifetimes have been determined for 9 levels. Above the 21/2+ yrast state 5 fast M1 transitions withB (M 1) ≧0.3 W.u. have been identified. They are interpreted as transitions between recoupled states of the configuration πg9/2ν(g9/2) 8+ −2 or πg9/2(f 5 2 /−1p 3 2−1 )4+ν(g9/2) 8+ −2 .

Notes: Abstract Levels in81Br and82Br have been investigated up to spin 21/2 and 10ħ, respectively, on the basis of in-beamγ-ray spectroscopy inα and deuteron induced reactions. In81Br a 3-quasiparticle (qp) band built on a (13/2−) level at 2.55 MeV has been established besides the bands built on thep 3/2 andg 9/2 proton excitations. The 3qp configuration is interpreted to include at least oneg 9/2 proton. The structures observed in the doublyodd nucleus82Br are associated withg 9/2 proton and/or neutron excitations.

Notes: Abstract An (α, 2nγ) in-beam study of excited states in 142Nd revealed 27 new levels on top of the 6+ isomer. Nanosecond lifetimes were found for two levels. The measured excitation energies were compared with spherical shell-model predictions obtained from suitably truncated model spaces.

Notes: Abstract Bombarding a85Rb target by 27 MeVα-particles the following half-lives of excited states in different nuclei have been determined by means of the generalized controid shift method: in87Y,T 1/2(2827.1 keV)=0.75±0.10 ns,T 1/2(2675.9 keV)=0.25±0.10 ns,T 1/2(3595.3 keV)=0.5±0.2 ns andT 1/2(2986.9, 3094.4 keV)〈0.1 ns; in88Y,T 1/2(232.1 keV)=0.8±0.1 ns and in85Rb,T 1/2(151.2 keV)=0.6±0.1 ns. In87Y, the members of the doublet (vg 9 2/−2 )8+ (πp1/2) are identified. E2 transition rates 21/2+⇒ 17/2+ in odd A≈ 90 nuclei are shown to represent essentially core transitions. Evidence for the existence of seniority-five configurations is found.

Notes: Abstract The half-life of a 3− excited state in106Ag was measured as T1/2 (364.4 keV)=0.9±0.1 ns using the103Rh(α, n)106Ag reaction. The intramultiplet transition rate B(M1, 3−→2−) indicates that the configuration π(g9/2)0 −2π(p1/2)−1 vd5/2 can be assigned. A low-lying 3+ isomer, as known in108,110Ag, was not found in106Ag, what is explained by the raising energy of the vd3/2 shell with decreasing neutron number. For the 6− bandhead of a rotational-like structure T1/2 (765.2 keV)〈 0.2 ns was derived in contradiction to an earlier prediction (200 ns). Indirect evidence for a negative sign of the magnetic moment of105Ag (g.s.) is obtained.

Notes: Abstract Excited states in78Se have been studied up to spin (12)ℏ at about 5.8 MeV in the76Ge(α, 2n) reaction using in-beamγ-ray spectroscopy. Mean lifetimes could be determined for 27 of the 33 levels observed by applying Doppler shift and pulsed-beam timing methods. According to theB(E2) values most of the levels have been grouped into collective bands. Irregularities in the level spacings of the yrast band above spin 6ℏ are interpreted to be due to the interaction of the ground state band withg 9/2 two-proton and two-neutron excitations. The mutual mixing of these configurations is reflected by strongM 1 transitions between the mixed states. The interaction strengths between the configurations involved have been estimated from three-band mixing calculations.
