    Notizen: Abstract We consider a model previously developed to describe spin-spin asymmetries is proton-proton large angle elastic scattering and apply it to predict proton spin-spin asymmetries in electron-proton elastic scattering. Our results differ from those commonly expected in a perturbative QCD scheme. The measurement of the spin asymmetries would provide a direct measurement of the two proton elastic form factors and a clean further test of our mechanism.

    Notizen: Abstract A mixing scheme among three pseudoscalar mesons η, η′ and τ(1440) is proposed in order to analyze their $$q\bar q$$ and gluonic components. Inequalities follow from requiring the consistency of the scheme and the range permitted for the mass of the pure gluonic state (glueball) turns out to be rather small. The resulting picture is in good agreement with the overall phenomenology and with the (rather scarce) data on the subject.

    Notizen: Abstract The connection between multiparticle unitarity and the structure of hadronic slopes is investigated within a simple model for the nondiffractive production amplitudes in which the (energy dependent) normalization in the popular form of the negative binomial distribution is taken as input. It is shown that the model can be made consistent with all known high energy constraints following from asymptotic theorems and experimental information in the sense that simple parametrizations of the (three) energy dependent parameters of the model satisfying all these constraints allow us to account for all thepp and $$\bar pp$$ slope data from “low” to the highest available energies.

    Notizen: Abstract A careful analysis of the available data on thef,f′ and θ mesons is carried out. It is shown that a coherent mixing scheme for these three mesons is not ruled out by the present data. Several consequences and predictions from this scheme are presented and, in particular, a new methodology for testing the validity of the flavour independence hypothesis for tensor glueball decays is discussed. The ambiguities left open by the present analysis call for better data in “conventional” spectroscopy. In particular, a better knowledge of the γγ, ππ and $$K\bar K$$ decay modes of tensor mesons would help very much in clarifying the tensor glueball picture.

    Notizen: Abstract Using a model previously introduced to describe spin-spin asymmetries in large angle elastic proton-proton scattering, we have computed the helicity density matrix of ρ vector mesons produced in πp→ρp interactions, at 90° in the c.m. system. Contrary to most other schemes, we obtain some nondiagonal elements sizeably different from zero; when comparing the ρ− decay angular distribution with experimental data we have an excellent agreement. We also give predictions for the case of ρ+ production.
