Description / Table of Contents: Chlorination of Polyethylene yields an elastomer (PEC). Its properties depend on the distribution of chlorine atoms along the main chain. This distribution of chlorine can be influenced by the manufacturing conditions. 13C-NMR-spectroscopy as well as mechanical data are used to characterize PEC-samples of equal chlorine content but different chlorine distribution.
