    Notes: The functional and structural appearance of the intestinal mucosa was investigated in fifteen psoriatic patients, and the absorption of orally administered methotrexate was measured.Absorption of methotrexate ranged from 32–98% of the oral dose, significantly correlating with D-xylose absorption.The outcome of various gastroenterological test procedures showed markedly individual patterns. Considering the whole group, however, a high rate of abnormal findings, consistent with an increased Incidence of malabsorptive enteropathy in psoriatic patients was demonstrated.

The surfactants can be applied at concentrations far below its critical micelle concentrations thus excluding micelle effects.

    Description / Table of Contents: Mass Spectrometric Fragmentation of N-Benzoyl(thio)benzamides, N-Benzoyl(thio, seleno)ureas, and their Ni(II)- and Cu(II)-1:2-chelatesThe mass spectra of the title compounds are discussed. It can be shown that the difference between the fragmentations of the free and coordinated ligands is preferentially caused by different stabilities of the ligand-metal bonding. In the chelates the oxygen-metal bonding fragmentates considerably easier than the sulphur-metal bonding.
    Notes: Die Massenspektren der Titelverbindungen werden diskutiert. Es wird gezeigt, daß die Unterschiede in den elektronenstoßinduzierten Fragmentierungen der freien und der koordinierten Liganden im wesentlichen durch die verschiedene Stabilität der Ligatoratom-Metall-Bindung verursacht werden. Die Sauerstoff-Metall-Bindung fragmentiert im Chelat wesentlich leichter als die Schwefel-Metall-Bindung.

    Description / Table of Contents: Coordination Ability and Extraction Behaviour of 1-Dialkyl-3-thiobenzoyl UreasA series of new 1-dialkyl-3-thiobenzoyl ureas was synthesized and the extraction ability for lead and zinc was studied. To characterize this type of ligands metal chelates of 1-diethyl-3-thiobenzoyl urea with Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pb, and Pd were isolated. The acid constant of the ligand and the stability constants for the complexes of Co, Ni, Zn, Cd, and Ag were determined in 75% (v) dioxane-water mixture. 1-Dialkyl-3-thiobenzoyl ureas are more acid and in general form less stable complexes than the isomeric 1-dialkyl-3-benzoyl thioureas do, but they are able to extract metals from somewhat stronger solutions.
    Notes: Eine Reihe neuer 1-Dialkyl-3-thiobenzoylharnstoffe wurde synthetisiert und ihr Extraktionsvermögen gegenüber Blei und Zink untersucht. Zur komplexchemischen Charakterisierung des Ligandentyps wurden für 1-Diethyl-3-thiobenzoylharnstoff die Metallchelate von Co, Ni, Cu, Zn, Pb und Pd dargestellt sowie auf potentiometrischem Wege in 75 Vol-% Dioxan-Wasser-Mischung die Säurekonstante des Liganden und die Komplexstabilitätskonstanten für Co, Ni, Zn, Cd und Ag bestimmt. 1-Dialkyl-3-thiobenzoyl-harnstoffe sind stärker sauer und bilden allgemein weniger stabile Komplexe als die isomeren 1-Dialkyl-3-benzoyl-thioharnstoffe, extrahieren aber Metalle aus stärker sauren Lösungen.

    Description / Table of Contents: Metal Complexes of the Methylester of Benzoyldithioacetic Acid and the Ethylester of N-Benzoylamino-dithiocarbonic Acid: Preparation and Characterization, ESCA and EPR InvestigationsNeutral bis-complexes of the methylester of benzoyldithioacetic acid (1) with NiII, PdII, CuII, ZnII and PbII were prepared as well as the tris-complex with CoIII. They are compared with corresponding complexes of the aza-isosteric ester ligand N-benzoylamino-dithiocarbonic acid ethylester (NiII, PbII). It turns out from IR, ESCA and (CuII/1)-EPR data that both ligands chelate via O and S of its deprotonated forms with the exception of the lead complex of 1, which contains the ligand monodentate and O-bound.
    Notes: Von den beiden isosteren Dithioesterliganden Benzoyldithioessigsäure-methylester (1) und N-Benzoylamino-dithiokohlensäureethylester (2) werden Bis-Komplexe mit NiII, PdII, CuII, ZnII und PbII und der Tris-Komplex mit CoIII (alle von 1, deprotoniert) bzw. die Bis-Komplexe mit NiII und PbII (von 2, deprotoniert) dargestellt und ihre IR-, ESCA- und EPR-Daten (CuII/1) interpretiert. Es stellt sich heraus, daß die deprotonierten Liganden als 1,3-(S, O)-Chelat-bildner fungieren. Einzige Ausnahme ist der PbII-Komplex von 1, der den Liganden einzähnig über O koordiniert enthält.

    Description / Table of Contents: EPR Investigations on a Copper Chelate of anα-Cyano-β-amino-dithioacryl Acid EsterEPR studies on copper(II) chelates of anα-cyano-β-amino-dithioacryl acid ester are reported. The EPR spectra were obtained from solutions, diamagnetically diluted powders, and single-crystals which are stable for a short time only. The corresponding nickel(II) chelate was used as host lattice. The 14N ligand hyperfine structure observed in the spectra is in agreement with a [CuN2S2] coordination sphere. In some orientations of the recorded angular dependencies the EPR spectra show a hyperfine splitting due to the interaction of the unpaired electron with the N—H protons. In addition spin flip satellite lines are observed in the single-crystal spectra. The g, ACu and AN tensors obtained from the powder and single-crystal spectra have an axial symmetry within the experimental errors. The unpaired electron occupies a MO which consists mainly of the copper 3dxy and the corresponding donor atom orbitals. The co-valency of the metal ligand bond is very high.
    Notes: Es wird über EPR-Untersuchungen am Kupfer(II)-Chelat einesα-Cyano-β-amino-dithioacrylsäureesters berichtet. EPR-Spektren wurden von Lösungen, Pulvern und Einkristallen, die nur kurze Zeit stabil sind, erhalten. Als diamagnetisches Wirtsgitter für die Pulver- und Einkristalluntersuchungen diente das analoge Nickel(II)-Chelat. Die in den EPR-Spektren beobachtete 14N-Ligandenhyperfeinstruktur ist charakteristisch für eine [CuN2S2]-Koordinationssphäre. In den Einkristallspektren, die durch eine geringe Linienbreite gekennzeichnet sind, werden zusätzlich Spin flip-Satellitenlinien und in einigen Orientierungen die Hyperfeinstrukturwechselwirkungen des ungepaarten Elektrons mit den N—H-Protonen der Liganden aufgelöst. Die aus den EPR-Spektren abgeleiteten g-, ACu- und AN-Tensoren weisen alle eine nahezu axiale Symmetrie aus. Das aus den EPR-Parametern abgeleitete MO des ungepaarten Elektrons besteht hauptsächlich aus dem Kupfer-3dxy- und den entsprechenden Orbitalen der Donoratome. Der Kovalenzgrad der Metall-Ligand-Bindung ist hoch.
