    Notizen: Abstract We have analysed the 1978 UBV photoelectric observations of the short-period (RS CVn type) binary system RT And, using the rectifiable methods of Russell and Merrill (1952) and Kitamura (1965). The primary minimum is a transit. The solutions allow us to classify the system as a detached one, but a certain disagreement results with respect to solutions of previous epochs. A graphical test of the reliability of the solution is given.

    Notizen: Abstract The observedV light curve of the eclipsing binary RT Persei has been analysed by four different methods of solution to get the geometrical and photometric elements of the system. The results show a good agreement within about 6%. The system shows a variable light curve and a tentative hypothesis is made to explain this behaviour by considering a dynamical instability that may be the cause of circulating matter through the system and of the variability of the period.

    Notizen: Abstract The optical shape of the heater's surface of solar energy concentrating collectors is here examined. Multi reflection effect, through a macrocavity analysis is introduced. The optical design of the cavity is accomplished and the cavity effect determined. Thermotechnical analysis of the system, in order to determine the optimal conditions for the heat transfer and for the maximization of the energy radiative balance, is introduced.

    Notizen: Summary A 3-year-old child of Sicilian origin was found to have a severe form of Cooley's anemia. Investigations were extended to other members of her family. In three, a rare β-chain structural Hb variant, Hb G San José [β7 (A4) Glu→Gly], was observed: in the father of the porposita heterozygosity for the abnormal Hb was found to be coexistent with β° thalassemia; two sisters had lowered MCV and MCH values and levels of the abnormal Hb significantly lower than in other heterozygotes for Hb G San José. The α-chain/total β-chain synthesis ratios suggest an α-thalassemic-like effect. Their mother had lowered MCV and MCH values, an Hb A2 level in the upper limit of the normal range, and a balanced α-chain/β-chain synthesis ratio. Therefore, the possibility of coexistence of an α thalassemia trait with a β thalassemia trait in the mother of the proposita and with Hb G San José heterozygosity in the two sisters who had lowered levels of abnormal Hb is discussed.

    Beschreibung / Inhaltsverzeichnis: Abstract Катализаторы, содержащие окислы марганца, кобальта и никеля на носителе γ-Al2O3, были охарактеризованы физически и проверены на оксидегидрировании этилбензола. Физическая характеристика указывает на спинельные образования на поверхности и/или на сегрегацию окислов металлов для систем кобальт-окись алюминия и никельокись алюминия, и только на сегрегацию Mn2O3 для марганцевых систем. Согласно данным каталитической активности, Mn2O3 и алюминат кобальта оказывают ускоряющий эффект, в то время как присутствие Co3O4) приводит к пониженным активностям.
    Notizen: Abstract Cytalysts containing manganese, cobalt or nickel oxides supported on γ-alumina were physically characterized and tested for the oxidehydrogenation of ethylbenzene. The physical characterization shows surface spinel formation and/or metal oxide segregation for the systems cobalt-alumina and nickelalumina, but Mn2O3 segregation only for the manganese system. The catalytic activity data indicate a promoting effect of Mn2O3 and cobalt aluminate, while the presence of Co3O4 results in a lower activity.
