Change of Reactivity of Nickel by Mechanical TreatmentThe reaction between different sorts of nickel and carbon monoxide under conditions of mechanical treatment is described. The velocity of this reaction is influenced by following by effects: The increasing of the concentration of defects in the metal (especially dislocations), the change of the surface area, and the production of clean surfaces. A good linearity exists between concentration of defects and the velocity of the reaction. Technical aspects of this reaction are mentioned.

Es wird die Nickelcarbonylbildung aus Kohlenoxid und verschieden vorbehandelten Nickelsorten bei tribomechanischer Bearbeitung der festen Phase untersucht. Auf die Festkörperreaktivität haben folgende Effekte Einfluß: Erhöhung der Fehlordnung im Metall, insbesondere der Versetzungskozentration, Veränderung der Oberfläche und Schaffung metallischer Frischflächen. Zwischen der Defektkonzentration und der Geschwindigkeit der Reaktion besteht in weiten Grenzen eine Linearität. Auf die technische Bedeutung dieser Prozesse wird hingewiesen.
