    Notes: Abstract The β-spectrum of87Rb was measured in a 4 π-proportional counter with very thin sources and backings from 0 to 90 keV. In this region we found more β-particles than other authors. The results confine the nuclear parameters to smaller limits than before. The countings up to 90 keV together with the results of other authors at higher energies lead to an estimated half life between 4.8 and 5.1 · 1010 years.

    Notes: Abstract The Bahcall correction factorsX L/K andX M/L forL/K andM/L electron capture ratio respectively are calculated including the Hartree-Fock (HF) rearrangement. The rearrangement takes into account that the atom after the electron capture is not in the HF ground state. The selfconsistent single electron orbits for the excited states with a hole in theK,L orM shell are calculated using the Herman-Skillman and the Froese HF codes. The rearrangement changes the correction factor into the right direction, but the reduction is too small. Only for very light atoms the alteration is larger than 1% and therefore it is in general smaller than the present experimental errors.

    Notes: Abstract We measured theL/K-capture ratio of48V for all transitions simultaneously and foundP L /P K =0.104±0.004. Coincidence measurements with the γ-rays by scintillation counters led toP L /P K =0.115 ± 0.015. This latter value is not very exact, but the comparison of the number ofK-pulses in the two sets of measurements allows the statement that the49V-impurity in the48V was less than 1.1% at the time of delivery and less than 10% during the measurements. So a possible49V-impurity did not disturb the results.

    Notes: Abstract The exoelectron-emission from electron irradiated metal specimens was measured in a heatable Geiger-Müller-counter. For a silver specimen the term data (activation energy, frequency factor) of the traps were determined from the shape of the glow curve, using the methods applied on thermoluminescence glow curves. The comparison of the glow curve with theoretical emission curves of monoenergetic traps showed that the glow curve consisted of several emission curves, which had not been resolved in the measurement. For the activation energies of the traps responsible for the emission in the temperature range from 20 to 180 °C we got values of about 1 eV. The computed frequency factors are rather uncertain; they cover the range between 109 and 1014 sec−1.

    Notes: Abstract The half-lifeT of87Rb was determined by means of a 4π proportional counter using thin sources of RbCl on thin conducting backings. The total thicknessD investigated (RbCl+support) ranged from 11 to 525 μg/cm2. Comparative measurements with (inactive) layers of85RbCl showed that, in the energy range below 185 eV, RbCl layers give rise to spurious pulses. Linear extrapolation of the specific activity belowD=45 μg/cm2 toD=0 yieldsT=(4.88 −0.10 +0.06 )·1010 y. Previously published half-lives are discussed.
