Description / Table of Contents:
Notes:
Summary In assays containing active or inactivated thrombin glucose as cofactor of clot retraction can be replaced by Maltose and Mannose, but not by Fructose, Galactose, Lactose, Fucose and Arabinose. Ribose and Xylose (in low concentrations) were either inactive or slightly active as cofactors of retraction. In a new solufibrin-hirudin assay containing no active thrombin low concentrations of adrenaline, noradrenaline, ADP and collagen are physiological stimulants of clot retraction. Serotonin is only slightly active in this test-system in the same low concentration.
