Résumé On présente une étude de la vascularisation artérielle supra-sylvienne réalisée sur dix hémisphères cérébraux. On décrit la méthode utilisée pour analyser la morphologie de ces vaisseaux et pour mesurer leur rapport avec la surface cérébrale. Les variations importantes et remarquables des trajects supra-sylviens examinés, ont rendu nécessaire une classification en fonction de plusieurs types fondamentaux. Ces variantes, leur incidence et les mesures obtenues sont analysées et discutées en ce qui concerne leur éventuelle application à l'angiographie cérébrale.

Zusammenfassung Die Autoren führten an 10 Gehirnen anatomische Untersuchungen der suprasylvischen Arterien durch, um die Lage dieser Segmente in Beziehung zur Konvexität zu bestimmen. Es wurden erhebliche Differenzen im Verlauf dieser Arterien festgestellt und verschiedene Grundtypen nachgewiesen. Dabei wurde besonders auf die oberflächliche und auf die tiefe Position dieser Gefäße eingegangen. Diese Untersuchungen sind besonders wertvoll, um eine genaue Interpretation cerebraler Angiogramme zu ermöglichen.

Summary An anatomical study of the suprasylvian segments of the Sylvian arteries was carried out in 10 cerebral hemispheres, to investigate the morphology and position of these segments in respect of the convexity. The special technique devised for these estimations is described. Marked differences in the course of the arteries were found and several fundamental types could be recognised, including a strict superficial position of the vessels and various modalities of local deepening into the sulci. The incidence of these variations as well as the results of the measurements used in their evaluation are analysed with a view to application of the technique in the interpretation of cerebral angiograms.
