    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Die Komplexverbindung von Fe(III) mit 2,4,5-Trihydroxypyrimidin(II) wurde spektrophotometrisch untersucht. Die zur Eisenbestimmung mit II vorgeschlagene Methode ist selektiv und empfindlich und den Bestimmungsmethoden mit analogen Pyridinderivaten vergleichbar. Die Komplexbildung wurde auch für SÄure-Basetitrationen verwendet.
    Notes: Summary Iron(III) complexation with 2,4,5-trihydroxypyrimidine(II) has been spectrophotometrically studied. The proposed method for the determination of iron using (II) is selective and sensitive and is comparable to the methods using similar pyridine derivatives. The complexation has also been applied to acid-base titrations.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Ein wasserlöslicher, dunkelgelb gefärbter Kobaltkomplex mit Thioviolursäure hat das Absorptionsmaximum bei 425 nm. Mit den üblichen Methoden wurde für dessen Zusammensetzung das Verhältnis 1∶3 ermittelt. Das optimale pH-Bereich für die Komplexbildung liegt zwischen 7,1 und 9,3. Die Empfindlichkeit der Reaktion beträgt 0,0011μg Co/cm2 bei 425 nm. Der Einfluß verschiedener Fremdionen wurde untersucht.
    Notes: Summary A water soluble dark yellow complex formed by cobalt with thiovioluric acid exhibits an absorption maximum at 425 nm. The composition of the complex comes out to be 1∶3 as revealed by Job's method of continuous variations and mole ratio method. The optimum pH range for complete formation of a complex is 7.1 to 9.3. Its sensitivity has been found to be 0.0011μg Co/cm2 at 425 nm. The effect of various foreign ions in the determination of cobalt has also been investigated.

    Description / Table of Contents: Zusammenfassung Tropolon (Cykloheptatrienolon) bildet mit Rhodium(III) eine gelbe, wasserlösliche Komplexverbindung, die sich mit pyridinhältigem Chloroform extrahieren läßt. Das Absorptionsmaximum liegt zwar bei 390 nm, aber für die Messung eignet sich die Wellenlänge 420 nm besser, die von dem Reagens selbst praktisch nicht absorbiert wird. Die Zusammensetzung des Komplexes wurde nachJob und nach logarithmischen Methoden bestimmt und entspricht dem Verhältnis 1 ∶ 2. Maximale Farbintensität wird bei pH 5,5–6,3 erreicht. Das Beer'sche Gesetz ist bis 9,0 ppm gültig, die Empfindlichkeit bei 420 nm entspricht 0,009μg Rh/cm2. Der Einfluß verschiedener Fremdionen wurde untersucht. Mit einfachen Vorkehrungen wird die Methode hoch selektiv.
    Notes: Summary Tropolone forms a water-soluble yellow complex with rhodium-(III), which is extractable into chloroform containing pyridine. Although λmax of the complex lies at 390 nm, the more suitable wave-length for the determination is 420 nm at which there is practically no absorption by the reagent. The composition of the complex, as determined by Job's and logarithmic methods, comes out to be 1 ∶ 2. The pH range for maximum colour development is 5.5–6.3. Beer's law is followed up to 9.0 ppm and sensitivity of the colour reaction at 420 nm is 0.009μg Rh/cm2. The effect of various foreign ions has been investigated. With simple modifications, the method becomes highly selective.

Die volle Farbentwicklung tritt beim Erwärmen auf dem siedenden Wasserbad in etwa 30 min. ein. Das Beer'sche Gesetz ist bis 5,6 ppm Ru erfüllt. Die Empfindlichkeit der Reaktion beträgt 0,0046μg/cm2 bei 540 nm. Die Zusammensetzung des Komplexes entspricht dem Molverhältnis 1∶2. Der Einfluß verschiedener Fremdionen wurde untersucht.
    Notes: Summary Ruthenium(III) reacts with thiovioluric acid in aqueous medium at pH 4.45–6.00 to yield pinkish-violet complex with absorption maximum at 540 nm. Full colour development requires heating for about 30 minutes on a boiling water bath. The system obeys Beer's law in the range 0–5.6 ppm of ruthenium. The sensitivity of the reaction is 0.0046μg/cm2 (for log 10/I=0.001) at 540 nm. The composition of the complex is 1∶2, as shown by Job's and Bent and French methods. The effect of various foreign ions in the determination of ruthenium has also been investigated.
