Notes: Summary A micro-color test is described in which destruction of monolayers of secondary pig thyroid cells in disposable plastic trays as visualized macroscopically after staining with crystal violet is used as an indicator of viral multiplication. This test proved to be sensitive and to give reproducible results when applied to the titration of transmissible gastroenteritis (TGE) virus-neutralizing antibodies. It was, however, considerable less sensitive than a macro procedure when used for the titration of TGE virus.
