Notes: Abstract Very simple relations between renormalization factors and corrections to the GT-typeΒ-decay operator, isovector magnetic moment and coulomb energy differences between mirror nuclei due to tensor correlations are obtained.

Notes: Abstract The absorption of a bound 2p pion in16O with the emission of two fast nucleons leading to low excitation of the residual nucleus has been studied. In our calculation, the following important effects have been considered simultaneously: (i) correlations in the initial nuclear wave function are treated on the basis of the Brueckner theory, (ii) the mutual final state scattering of the emitted pair and (iii) the nucleon-nucleus scattering are taken into account by the use of eikonal model wave function. Results are compared with other calculations and experiments. It is found that inspite of our elaborate treatments serious discrepancies between theory and experiments still remain. A more careful study of the absorption mechanism is emphasized.

Notes: Quantum oscillations in the transverse magnetoresistance of aluminum single crystals were measured at 4.2 K in fields near the [001] direction of up to 50 kOe. The rotation diagrams around two axes, the current axis (θ-rotation) and normal to it (Φ-rotation), were investigated by directly measuring the amplitude of oscillations in steps of about 0.1†. As the field was tilted from [001] by about 2.5† in the Φ plane, the separation of double maxima in the θ rotation diagram changed from 0.8† to 5.0† for the [010] current samples, and from 2.8° to 5.6° for the [110]current samples, and the amplitude of oscillation decreased. A fast oscillation, which had not been observed in conventional dc magnetoresistance measurements, was simultaneously detected near the field direction where the β-orbit oscillations have a maximum amplitude.

Notes: Abstract Control models of body fluid volume via tonicity are developed in several ways, and all are demonstrated to be able to reproduce the characteristic response of organisms to ingestion of water. The diversity of models is due to uncertainties in renal and hormonal physiology, on which they are based.
