Abstract The optimum operating conditions of devices with opposed eleetron-electron and electron-positron beams ean be conveniently determined by measuringthe small-angle seattering. The large cross section of this process makes it possible to secure a high counting rate and to control the radiant emittance in operation. In the systems presently used, electrons and 10ositrons are recorded by means of scintillation counters which are connected to fast-slow coincidence circuits . The counting rate observed does not contradict the results of measurements of the geometric parameters of beams.
