Summary Highly acid perrhenate solutions can be reduced to the pentavalent state by use of stannous tin. In presence of conc. hydrochloric acid or rhodanide as complexing agents the reduction to the tetravalent state is favoured. A volumetric method for the determination of rhenium, applying SnCl2 solution and indigo carmine as indicator, is based on the reduction ReVII→ReV.

Zusammenfassung Stark saure Perrhenatlösungen lassen sich mit 2wertigem Zinn zur ReV-Stufe reduzieren; in Gegenwart von konz. Salzsäure oder von Rhodanid als Komplexbildner wird die Reduktion zum ReIV begünstigt. Es wird ein maßanalytisches Verfahren zur Rheniumbestimmung mit SnCl2-Lösung und Indigocarmin als Redoxindicator unter Ausnützung der Reduktion ReVII → ReV beschrieben.
