    Description / Table of Contents: Résumé Dans les couches minces uniaxiales de permalloy, on observe une fluctuation dans la direction de l’aimantation. Cette fluctuation est analysée ici au moyen du calcul des variations, dans les deux cas particuliers, où l’aimantation et le champ appliqué sont dirigés dans la direction de facile aimantation d’une part, de difficile aimantation d’autre part. Lorsque les fluctuations de l’aimantation sont faibles le calcul des variations conduit à des équations différentielles que l’on peut intégrer. Leurs solutions représentent la structure magnétique fine de la couche. Cette structure dépend de la dispersion de la direction d’anisotropie dans la couche, de ses constantes magnétiques, de son épaisseur et du champ appliqué.
    Abstract: Abstract The magnetic ripple of thin uniaxial permalloy films is estimated by the calculus of variations. Two special cases are examined, namely average magnetization and external field in the easy and in the hard direction of the uniaxial anisotropy. When the fluctuations of the magnetization, which are connected with the fluctuations of the anisotropy, are small, the variation problem leads to differential equations which can be integrated. The solutions describe the magnetic ripple in the film. The ripple is a function of the dispersion of the anisotropy directions, the magnetic constants of the film, its thickness, and of the applied field. The agreement between theory and experiment is good.
    Notes: Zusammenfassung Die Feinstruktur der Magnetisierungsverteilung in dünnen polykristallinen einachsigen Permalloyschichten wird mit Hilfe der Variationsrechnung bestimmt. Dabei werden zwei Spezialfälle herausgegriffen: mittlere Magnetisierung und äußeres Feld 1. in der leichten Richtung und 2. in der schweren Richtung der einachsigen Anisotropie. Solange die Magnetisierungsschwankungen klein sind, führt das Variationsproblem auf integrierbare Differentialgleichungen. Ihre Lösungen (Zylinderfunktionen) beschreiben die magnetische Feinstruktur der Schicht. Diese hängt ab von der Dispersion der Anisotropierichtungen der Schicht, ihren magnetischen Konstanten, ihrer Dicke und dem angelegten Feld.
