Notes: Abstract The mass excess of the147Gd nucleus was measured from the144Sm(12C,9Be)147Gd reaction using the 72 MeV12C beam of the Orsay MP Tandem and the “Bacchus” magnetic spectrometer. The measurement is auto-calibrated by the10Be spectrum from the144Sm(12C,10Be) reaction. The derived value of the mass excess of147Gd is −75.401±0.025 MeV. It is compared with other recent results and with calculated values.

Notes: Abstract The positron decay of146Eu was investigated, firstly to derive for the allowed transition to the 2046 keV state in146Sm the electron capture to positron decay ratio. The experimental valueEC/β +=43.7(42) is found to be in agreement within the respective error intervals with the ones calculated from the formalism of allowed decay using the recentQ-values of146Eu. Further on, theγ-decay properties of146Eu have been reinvestigated with emphasis on implied modifications of the hitherto accepted decay scheme: 42 new levels and 33 newγ-transitions were placed in the revised level scheme, 12 of the previously reported levels were deleted. The level distribution of146Sm is discussed within a statistical model. The indication for a non-statisticalβ-strength function is observed.

Notes: Abstract The isotopes15B,18C,19,20N,34,35Al and39P have been produced as projectile-like fragments from the interaction of a86Kr beam of 45 MeV/u from GANIL with a181Ta target. Separated by the 0° magnetic analyser LISE, the nuclei are identified by means of aΔE- E semiconductor telescope. It is surrounded, in a geometry close to 4π, by a thin plastic scintillator (NE 102) and a large volume liquid scintillator (NE 213) for the detection of betas and neutrons, respectively, from the decay of the implanted nuclei. By observation of theβ-delayed neutrons, the half-livesT 1/2 and neutron emission probabilitiesP n have been measured. TheT 1/2 of18C,20N,35Al,39P and Pn of18C,19,20N,34,35Al and39P are determined for the first time. For the isotopes17C,36,37Si and38P upper limits of Pn are deduced.
