    Notes: Abstract The two short-lived isomeric states in112In have been reinvestigated by means of the112Cd(d, 2n) and109Ag (α, n) reactions. Measurements of delayed X- andγ-ray, lifetime and TDPAD spectra have been performed. A 6.32(3) keVγ-ray has been identified in the isomeric decay and anM1 multipolarity has been assigned to it on the basis of the measured internal conversion coefficients:α L =196(39) andα tot=231(35). TheE1+M2(δ =+0.24(4)) andE2 multipolarities have been determined for the 263 and 188 keV transitions deexciting the 8−(T 1/2=2.82(2) μs) and 7+ (T 1/2=0.93(2) μs) isomeric states, respectively. A revised isomeric decay scheme is presented.

    Notes: Abstract Different adsorption forms of oxygen on silver are discussed. Four main types of oxygen forming at different temperatures and oxygen pressures have been distinguished. A kinetic model describing the formation and transformations of the oxygen forms and taking into account the surface amorphization has been proposed. Numerical modeling of stationary concentrations using this model gives evidence for a temperature window ΔT=500–800 K, where a quasimolecular oxygen state (E=530.5 eV, Tdes=800–900 K) can exist at high oxygen pressures.

    Notes: Abstract The formation of carbonaceous deposits on Pt(110) surface due to ethylene decomposition in the temperature range of 770–970 K has been studied. Both kinetic and XPS data show that chemisorbed carbon (with no C−C bonds, but only C−Pt bonds) forms at T=770–870 K, the saturation coverage θs being about 1 ML. At higher temperatures, θs increases by a factor of 1.5, indicating the formation of more densely packed carbon species (DPC) due to C−C bonding. A kinetic model has been proposed to describe the process of carbon conversion.

    Notes: Abstract A mathematical modeling of a dual-reactor system based on a simple kinetic scheme with two types of sites (accounting for deep and partial oxidation) has been performed. It has been shown that it is possible to regulate the state of a catalyst in the reaction zone by varying the rate of the catalyst circulation between the reactors, thus, significantly increasing the reaction selectivity. A region of multiplicity of the process stationary regimes has been found. This region appeared to become smaller with the increase of the catalyst circulation rate.

    Notes: Abstract A kinetic model taking into account two types of active sites has been used for an analysis of factors influencing the rate of a catalytic reaction. It has been shown that the reaction rate can be significantly increased by performing the reaction with the “stop-effect” in a dual-reactor system due to the catalyst circulation between two reactors, one of which is purged with an inert gas.
