    Notes: Abstract A phenomenological description of the light heavy ion fusion, reaction and scattering cross section is possible by an extended optical model with two separate absorptive potential and a critical angular momentum cut off for fusion. The calculation of the fusion cross section has essentially two free parameters:N S anda fus.N S renormalizes the calculated Satchler-Love real nuclear potential anda fus is the diffuseness parameter in the absorptive fusion potential. A very good description of the experimental fusion cross sections is found for systems ranging from12C+12C to32S+32 Al for the full measured energy range from the subbarrier region to several times the critical energy.
