Abstract We have studied the14N(p, γ)15O reaction leading into thej π=1/2+ resonance atE cm =260 keV in the proton channel. Our calculation is based on a potential model for nuclear bremsstrahlung allowing both fragments to have non-vanishing spins. Our study reproduces consistently the total width of the final resonance as well as the capture cross sections into this state thereby not confirming a contradiction between these two experimental data sets as discussed recently.
