Notes: Dimethyl 3-[(4-nitro)phenyl]aziridine-2,2-dicarboxylate (3a) represents a new, photochromic aziridine. 3a and related aziridines undergo cycloadditions with dipolarophiles to form five-membered heterocycles and react with nucleophiles with cleavage of the C2—C3 bond.
